What is a PA?


The role of a personal assistant (PA) is to help our clients live their lives as independently as possible. The specific roles of each PA will be different depending on the individual needs of each client, but generally, all aspects of; personal care, student support (ie note taking/exam scribe), and general housekeeping are taken care of by PAs.

A major part of a PAs role is to assist and encourage our clients with socialising and perusing hobbies and interests. This is why we place a great deal of emphasis on matching our clients with like-minded PAs.


How are PAs chosen?


The first step is meeting with each client to gather in-depth information on the care and support required, along with any personal specifications they prefer.

Following this, we find, shortlist and present our clients with suitable and talented potential PAs. From here, our clients can choose which candidates they would like to interview and choose their favourite based on the interviews. Our clients will always have complete control over the ultimate choice of who provides their care and support.


Can LiveYou cater for complex care needs?

Absolutely! Following our meeting with the client and assessing the care and support needs, we provide the right number of PAs along with all necessary training needed to meet your individual requirements.


Is training provided for PAs?


Yes, all of our PAs are given training in first aid, food hygiene, and moving and handling as standard, along with a full DBS check. However, for clients with more complex needs, extra training will be provided to meet all of our client's needs.


How are PAs managed?


PAs are employed by our clients, however, LiveYou still plays an active role in PA management so each individual can concentrate on enjoying life, while we take care of all aspects of HR in the background.


When our client chooses a PA we produce an offer of employment, along with the contract of employment following the PAs acceptance. From here we arrange payrolls and continuous improvement through further training.


How does LiveYou ensure the care package is working well?


We conduct regular reviews to ensure our clients are completely satisfied with the support they are receiving and welcome both client and PAs to provide feedback at any point with the option for anonymity if desired.
